2023 RAPTORS 905 LUNAR NEW YEAR JERSEY

Raptors 905 tasked CCYAA with creating a special edition jersey to celebrate the Lunar New Year. While this is my second 905 x Lunar New Year jersey design, the approach was entirely different. With Lunar New Year being celebrated by a variety of Asian communities, my goal was to create an inclusive design that would embrace that diaspora.  Many Asian ephemera can be found throughout the jersey kit; from traditional fine line art to Asian ceramic patterns, every element was created with intent. The design is purposefully minimalist, focusing on the 905 logo, inspired by traditional red seals used in East Asia as a sign of authenticity. The Year of the Rabbit is celebrated through the use of a paper-cutting design as well as a fun 905 rabbit emblem.
